United Congregations for Communities & Youth is proud to be partnering with the City of Jacksonville to provide youth development, family preservation, public assistance coordination and adult capacity building services from inside of the Blue Cypress Community Center.

Outreach
Programs

01

Adult Capacity Building

Practical workshops and one-on-one coaching that build everyday skills—job readiness, digital basics, and financial stability. Flexible  sessions connect adults to training, credentials, and local employment opportunities.

Family Preservation

Supports families to stay safely together through parenting coaching, home-based support, and resource navigation. We partner with schools and providers to build stable routines, strengthen communication, and meet urgent needs.

Conflict Resolution 

Teaches youth and families how to de-escalate, listen, and solve problems without harm. Mediation and restorative circles help reduce school conflicts and make home and community spaces safer.

Career & Tradecraft Education

Hands-on exploration of high-demand careers and skilled trades with clear steps to certificates and apprenticeships. Includes resume/interview prep and connections to local training partners and employers.

Positive Relationship Development

Guides teens and young adults in building healthy, respectful relationships. Topics include boundaries, consent, communication, digital citizenship, and bystander skills.

Mental Health & Wellness

Normalizes care and connects participants to help—screenings, stress-management tools, peer support, and referrals to licensed providers. Workshops focus on resilience, coping skills, and whole-family wellness.

Community Advocacy

Amplifies community voice through know-your-rights education, case advocacy, and neighborhood improvement projects. We help residents navigate systems, access services, and take part in decisions that shape their communities.

A3: Arts, Academics, & Athletics
After School Program

A safe, structured after-school space for youth ages 5–19 that builds confidence through creativity, learning, and teamwork. Running Monday–Friday, 2:30–6:30 PM during the regular Duval County Public Schools calendar, A3 blends tutoring, enrichment, and mentorship to help students thrive.

School Holiday & Summer Break Camps

Open 8:30am- 6:00pm for school holidays, winter break, spring break, and summer break, UCCY has youth enrichment programming available for youth ages 6- 19. Athletics, low impact games, computer lab and enrichment activities of all kinds are available for program participants.

Impetus Art Collective

UCCY’s Impetus Art Collective gives young artists a home to learn, create, and perform. Students explore performing arts, lyrical composition, spoken word poetry, music & chorus, visual arts, symphonic band, jazz band, percussion, and visual/audio digital production. Guided by local professionals and educators, participants build technique, collaboration, and stage presence while producing original work. Youth perform at local venues and craft shareable content—videos, tracks, and reels—for social media and portfolios. All skill levels welcome.

Teen Training A.R.C. (Adult Readiness Curriculum

A fast-track readiness program for ages 16–19 stepping into young adulthood. Teen Training A.R.C. builds real-life skills for money management, healthy relationships, parenting readiness, health & wellness, and positive community leadership through hands-on workshops, coaching, and service projects.

 

Modules Include:

  • Adult finances: budgeting, banking, credit basics, understanding paychecks & taxes.

  • Life skills: renter readiness, utilities/transportation planning, digital organization.

  • Relationships & parenting: communication, consent & boundaries, conflict skills, newborn/early-childhood basics.

  • Health & wellness: stress management, nutrition, sleep, mental-health resources, navigating care.

  • Career & trades: resumes, interviews, job search, apprenticeships/trade pathways.

  • Community impact: civic engagement, advocacy 101, neighborhood service projects.
